Ok, so I’ve been neglecting my blog for a little bit, but all for good reason. Things have been wayyy too hectic these past couple of weeks for me to remember/recount everything that’s gone down. I guess I’ll just give everyone a brief list of everything that’s been going on in my life and I’ll go into further detail later on.

• tonssss of studying: gotta get that 4.0 this semester! that’s not just the asian in me coming out, but i need that to get off scholar’s probation. isn’t that just ridiculous?!?! being on probation for having something under a 3.65? crazy, just crazy. if i want to go to Madrid during spring break (which i def do), then i’m going to need that 4.0 badly, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. it also feels like as much as i study, all i’m getting out of it is a measly B. which def does not feel worth it at all. does that mean i have to try harder? study more? but there’s no time for that! i’ve got a midterm a week for the next 3 to 4 weeks. ugh. that means lots of time in the library or locked up in my room.
• pledging for a sorority: i made the snap-second decision two days before formal recruitment sign-up ended to attend rush week. i was supposed to do it with a friend, but then she ended up deciding not to do it because of financial reasons. i went through the week, met all the sororities in nyu’s panhellenic council, loved some & disliked others, and then i got a bid from alpha sigma tau on bid day. it’s a pretty big sorority with about 70 girls already. i’m currently undergoing their new member process and i’m loving it. it’s also making me super busy, but i expected this so i’m trying not to complain (that much). Not everyone is pictured here, but it’s the majority of the Lambda class and maybe half or a third of the sisters :) this past week was Greek Night, an event nyu holds that sort of like the olympics with a bunch of different sports and activities for the fraternities and sororities to compete against each other in. We totally repped the green & gold (our colors) this week, but unfortunately we only came in 2nd place, behind dphie, by a point. it was tragic, but it’s ok because we beASTed and it was tons of fun.

• hanging out with tons of great friends: thank goodness that not everything revolves around nyu and i still have time to spend with awesome people, like you guys! just this past week alone i’ve seen: maggie, rob, phil, wen hao, george wan, michelle, eric, jonathan, raymond, tracy, and catherine. i’ve also come to realize that all my hang outs with people involve food…. lots of food :) not that i mind of anything ahaha. i like maintaining my connections from outside of school, and it never hurts to have a lot of friends in my opinion. if anyone ever wants to hang out or get lunch sometimes, callll meeeee!
• taking it easy on the partying: as much as you guys think of me as the type of person that likes to go to parties and drink, i am slowly growing out of that scene. well, maybe not slowly growing out of it, because i’ve almost completely removed myself from that scene. i’ve become such an old lady in the past weeks! i’ve gone out a couple of times, but i would much rather stay at home or go out and relax with a few friends as opposed to full-blown parties and wild nights that i don’t remember. i definitely don’t drink as much anymore and i enjoy quieter evenings. it’s been a while since i’ve had an intense night out. maybe it’s the lack of time doing this to me, but things are different now. in a way, i sort of miss going out with my roommates on the weekend, but i need to prioritize myself carefully these next couple of weeks and make sure i get done the things that are most important. i’m going to make it up to them the moment i have the time though and we’re going to party it up. promise. everyone’s welcomed to come as well.
• music: i didn’t go to a single concert in september! october is currently looking to turn out the same way. isn’t that just tragic?!!? on a brighter note, i have finished listening to my entire music collection aka listening to each song at least once. all 11,402 songs. you know what that means? now i can finally update my collection with some new songs. can’t wait!
